A HALESOWEN pet rescue is appealing for donations to help save ten-month-old moggie Snowy who is fighting for his life after a routine neuter op.

Snowy was a perfectly healthy cat when he was neutered on September 10 - but now he is desperately poorly at Peppers Pet Rescue with his vets bill having already topped £2.2k.

Vets were about to put Snowy to sleep after he got an infection after the operation, stopped eating and developed liver failure - but his owner Kirsty Holloway went to Peppers Pet Rescue for help - with Sophie Pepper stepping in to stump up the funds to fight to save him.

Mum-of-two Sophie had taken out a loan to pay for her garage to be converted into housing for an array of rescue animals, but has now spent it all and more on Snowy's care.

The bill has already reached £2,257 and the pet rescue is desperately appealing for funds to continue the fight for Snowy's life.

Halesowen News:

Sophie and Kirsty moved Snowy from the vets where he was neutered to St George's Vets in Wolverhampton where he has been given lifesaving care for sepsis.

Sophie said: "I just couldn't let Snowy be put to sleep at just 10-months - so I am having to use the loan that we took out to convert the garage to house the animals to pay for it.

"So far he has had emergency surgery to insert a feeding tube, intensive care, tests, two scans and lots of meds, intensive feeds and IV fluids.

"We are praying he pulls through, but it's touch and go at the moment.

"St George's Vets have been amazing and we have had £600 of donations for Snowy from supporters - but we still need to raise more."

Mum-of-two Sophie is caring for Snowy at Pepper's Pet Rescue, which she runs from her home on the Lodgefield Estate. She and her husband Andrew Pepper - the pair are both nurses - started the rescue which has a Facebook page when they had time off as their three-year-old son Toby recovered from emergency brain surgery.

Mum-of-two Kirsty, of Rowley Regis, is a kitten fosterer for Peppers. She is hoping much-loved pet Snowy will pull through and return to her home.

Snowy has been showing signs of improvement and has eaten a few bits of food on his own but still has a long way to go.

Anyone who can help by donating towards Snowy's care can do so by e mailing pepperspetrescue@hotmail.com and requesting its bank details or via Paypal to pepperspetrescue@hotmail.com - select friends and family and comment ‘Snowy.’
