AWARD-WINNING Stourbridge rockers WEAK13 have their sights set on a second music video award this year after being nominated for the best music video award at this year's Birmingham Film Festival.

Their science fiction psychological horror themed 'Cameras Are Everywhere' music video is in the running for the accolade at this year's event.

Having won a similar award earlier this year with their release 'Closure' at the Black Country Music Awards in Wolverhampton, the band are keeping their fingers crossed for further success.

It's also the second successive year that they have been nominated for the annual international film festival held in Birmingham.

WEAK13 bass player Wesley Smith, who plays a lab assistant in the music video for 'Cameras Are Everywhere', said: "It's remarkable to get nominated two years in a row for this international film festival not to mention have the opportunity of picking up a second award this year what with our earlier win this year at the Black Country Music Awards.

"We'd love to have a win in Birmingham and we'll find out in November."

The song 'Cameras Are Everywhere' is taken from the band's debut studio album They Live and the music video, which was filmed in Stourbridge at Base Studios and directed by WEAK13 frontman and guitarist Nick J Townsend, stars Black Country singer and actress Emily Abbiss who plays a woman held against her will by villainous scientists who while experimenting on her unlock a deadly supernatural power.

Nick said: "We were so thankful to have Emily take the lead role in this music video, she's an energetic singer and performer and I knew she'd be perfect for the character we had in mind."

The music video also features a guest performance from the director of stainless steel chain jewellery company Scarlet In Chains based in the Black Country who are big supporters of the band and have previously supplied custom made jewellery for WEAK13.

Singer and music video director Nick J Townsend said: "We had some amazing acting performances in this music video and that plays an important factor as to why 'Cameras Are Everywhere' is now award-nominated.

"We try and raise the bar every year creatively and people expect a WEAK13 music video to be entertaining."

'Cameras Are Everywhere' will be screened on Saturday November 2 (at 2pm) at Birmingham's Millennium Point as part of the Birmingham Film Festival.

WEAK13 can be seen playing live on Saturday October 19 at Claptrap the Venue as part of Buzz Fest.
