THE idyllic Greek island of Skiathos has been added to the summer 2020 programme from Bournemouth Airport.

The new Friday flight has been announced today alongside plans to add extra weekly flights to Antalya in Turkey.

New flights will allow for 10 and 11 night holidays to Turkey and 4,000 extra seats will go on sale today.

TUI UK made the announcement and said it is committed to offering customers more flexibility and choice.

TUI Director of Aviation Planning, Karen Switzer said: “Earlier this month TUI announced an additional two million seats to many holiday destination favourites and today the majority of these seats go on sale for summer 2020.

"We are delighted that our new additions launched today provide holidaymakers departing from our regional airports with even more choice when deciding where to go next summer on holiday.

"The customer is at the heart of everything we do and this additional growth to some of our customer’s favourite holiday hotspots demonstrates our continued commitment for people to discover their smile with us."

Stephen Gill, Managing Director, Bournemouth Airport, said: "The new route to the beautiful Greek island of Skiathos, a stunning film location for the Abba-themed hit movie Mamma Mia, will be exciting news for many sunshine holidaymakers who prefer the travel convenience of our local airport.

"We also warmly welcome TUI’s package holidays via Antalya, gateway to Turkey’s Turquoise Coast in the southern Mediterranean region."
