CHRISTMAS will come early for Britpop lovers at Venue Cymru this year.

York's Britpop delegation Shed Seven are back on the road and raring to go to remind Llandudno music lovers of the heights of Cool Britannia in December.

For anyone who missed their legendary sold out '96 tour - or indeed, Noel Gallagher and Gaz Coombes at Venue Cymru this May - Shed Seven are 'going for gold' once again, with their biggest ever UK tour to date for November and December.

Frontman Rick Witter said: “We can’t wait to get back out on the road later this year to play some of our favourite venues and visit some brand new places."

The tour, which also marks the 25th anniversary of their first album release, will feature a mix of Sheds classics and choice cuts from Instant Pleasures including fan favourites Room In My House and Better Days.

With five UK Top 40 entries in 1996, Shed Seven had more hit singles than any other act that year, the high point coming with the release of their seventh single, Going For Gold, which remains their biggest chart hit to date at number eight.

Not content to rest on their laurels, the five-piece just get bigger and bigger.

Since their meteoric rise to fame as one of the leading lights of Britpop, Shed Seven released their first new album in 16 years Instant Pleasures in 2017 which went top-10 and achieved acclaim across the board.

Support for the evening comes from Birmingham indie-rock five piece The Twang.

Relive Cool Britannia with Shed Seven at Venue Cymru on Friday, December 6, with doors opening at 7pm.

Tickets are £30.50 and are on sale now, available from venuecymru.co.uk or by calling the box office on 01492 872000.
