POLICE are investigating claims that 'a man with a white dog' is involved in a series of bike thefts in Poole.

Five bicycles have been taken from in just two days. Two bikes were stolen from the grounds of a school.

Police were called to St Aldhelm's Academy in Herbert Avenue after two bikes were stolen sometime between 9am and 4.55pm on Wednesday, November 20.

A Carrera Cross Via Two cycle was taken from Thrush Road, which is near Tower Park, sometime after 5.30pm the following day.

On the same day, a Maron black hybrid mountain bike was taken from Vantage Way between 2.15pm and 2.45pm and another bike was stolen from outside the Fulcrum Centre in Vantage Way after 12.20pm.

Each of the bikes had been secured with locks. In every case, the locks had been damaged and removed.

A spokesperson from Dorset Police called for anyone with information to report it via dorset.police.uk

"We have reports of an unknown male, possibly with a white dog, that may be responsible for some of these thefts," the spokesperson said.
