A MAN in his 20s is fighting for his life after suffering a head injury during a fight outside an Oldbury pub.

The victim is in a critical condition in hospital after the attack at the Bulls Head Pub in Birchfield Lane.

Police were called to reports of a fight at the sports pub just after 5.50pm yesterday (Sunday December 1)

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to reports of a violent disorder at the Bulls Head pub in Birchfield Lane Oldbury, just after 5.50pm yesterday.

"One man suffered a serious head injury and is in a critical condition in hospital.

"An investigation is underway and anyone with any information is asked to contact police via Live Chat at www.west-midlands.police.uk or call 101 anytime.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: “We were called to reports of an assault at a sports bar on Birchfield Lane at 5.45pm on Sunday evening.

"Two ambulances and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered a man, believed to be in his 20s, who had suffered serious injuries following an assault.

"He received specialist trauma care before being transported to hospital for further treatment.

"A second man was discharged on the scene with minor injuries.”
