A POPULAR Brierley Hill pub is back open for business following £300,000 of investment.

The Birch Tree Inn, based on Vicarage Road, has been spruced up following a major cash boost from independent pub company Punch.

Publicans Diane and Mark Burton have taken on the new look watering hole and have been moved by the support the new pub has received so far.

Diane said: “We are excited to be working with Punch to bring this beautiful pub back into the heart of the community. The response on Facebook has been overwhelming, 220 likes in 48 hours totally blew us away! So many positive messages of support have got us really excited to take on the new adventure.”

Punch, which operates 1,200 pubs around the country, has ploughed £283,907 to breath new life into the pub.

New additions include children's play equipment, a beer garden and a fully refurnished interior with fresh furniture and a brand new dining area.

Andy Spencer, from Punch, said: "This is a significant investment in a traditional community pub, and we are really pleased with the new look created. We are excited to be working with Diane and Mark who bring a wealth of experience and expertise which will ensure the local community will benefit from a terrific pub for many years.”
