A CAR has smashed into the front of a building in a Hampshire town.
The vehicle crashed into the property at the junction between South Street and St John's Street, in Hythe.
Police, fire crews and paramedics are at the scene of the crash, which took place around 12.30pm yesterday (Saturday).
One person who witnessed the aftermath of the crash said: "I heard the sound of sirens. Just one after the other, after the other.
"It sounded like something massive had happened.
"When I looked there were blues-and-twos all over the place."
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "We were called at 12.26pm.
"The incident involved a single vehicle into a building.
"The driver is being taken to Southampton General Hospital, but does not appear to be seriously injured."
Police say the road remains closed.
