A HUGE pile of fly-tipped rubbish has gone up in flames in Oldbury this afternoon (Tuesday) - threatening power supplies across the Black Country
Firefighters were called to the dump on a piece of land just off of the Dudley Road, near to the allotments, at around 2.20pm, this afternoon (March 3).
Oldbury Fire Station took to twitter with news of the fire, which is near an electricity pylon.
The tweet said: "Fire in approximately 100 tonnes of fly tipped rubbish by Dudley Road allotments.
"Oldbury firefighters attending tying up the communities fire service resources and in this cause threatening the Black Country’s power supply."

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We got a call at 2.20pm this afternoon.
"We sent two crews from Oldbury, with a total of eight firefighters.
"We are still at the scene.
"We have got one main hose reel jet and we are turning over the rubbish and checking for hot spots."
