A WARNING has been issued by a school after a man in a green coat holding an umbrella was spotted approaching children in Oldbury.
Brandhall Primary School took to Facebook to urge parents to be vigilant as an unknown man was spotted talking to pupils and asking what their names were.
The incident happened at the end of the school day at around 3.45pm yesterday (March 3) in Moat Road.
It is believed the man said he knew the pupils' parents and then asked for their names.
A spokesman for the school, which is based in Brennand Road, said: "On Tuesday, March 3 at 3.45pm on Moat Road a man was approaching students claiming to know their parents and asking their names."
He has been described as a black male, aged in his mid-50s.
At the time of the incident, he was wearing a green coat and holding an umbrella.
The Q3 Academy Secondary school is based on Moat Road.
