TWO Dudley neighbours joined forces to perform a special version of 'We Will Rock You' on their street during Clap for Carers.

Medical student Ravi Bakshi played the dhol drum alongside his neighbour Rob Harris on the electric guitar during the weekly event on Thursday night to pay tribute to NHS workers.

They performed the classic Queen hit after deciding to team up, as they had both been entertaining their neighbours on Snowshill Gardens with their lockdown performances.

Ravi, who is back home in Dudley from Glasgow University during lockdown, said they wanted the performance to be a tribute to the NHS and to cheer their neighbours up.

Rob is a delivery driver for the NHS and Ravi is training to be a doctor, so they wanted to do something to show their appreciation for the NHS during the crisis.

Ravi said: "It brought a bit of happiness during this time and was something new for the kids to enjoy.

"We wanted to show we appreciate the difficulties the NHS is going through and do a tribute to the staff who are working so hard."

Ravi has played the dhol drums since he was a youngster and regularly performs at weddings and shows, alongside his medical studies.

He added: "The dhol performances have given people an insight into Indian culture and music. The combination of an Indian Bhangra instrument with western rock shows a blending of two styles and cultures to make fantastic music."
