AN ONLINE dog show was staged by the organisers of Halesowen Carnival after the popular event had to be cancelled.

The dog show is usually held at the carnival in Highfields Park - but this year an online show was held instead and attracted 200 entries from proud owners.

Organiser Stuart Henley said: "After having to cancel this year’s carnival due to the current Covid pandemic, we decided to run our popular dog show online with all the usual categories.

"As the Government restrictions have started being lifted, we decided to hold a presentation at Highfields Park just for the winners and runners up, this was to bring a small bit of happiness to those entering the dog show.

"It was disappointing that we couldn’t invite all entries and the public to this, as we had to protect the safety of all.

"We would like to thank all involved in the event including the entrants, sponsors The Big Pet Store, Doggy Daycare, Blue Cross Bromsgrove Rehoming Centre and event photographer Snapper SK.
