A FIRE broke out at a chicken shop in Brierley Hill town centre this morning.
Fire crews raced to My Chicken on the High Street, after receiving a 999 report just after 9am today (July 27).
Three fire engines and 14 firefighters were sent to the scene, where the fire was believed to have started in the rear of the building.
A spokesman from West Midlands Fire Service said crews had made good progress by 10.15am and were in the process of damping down the area.
Fire crews are expected to return to the scene later today to check on the premise again.
Police also blocked the road to traffic to allow the fire service to fight the blaze, which affected bus routes serving the High Street.
