AN inquest has been opened into the death of Oldbury nurse Victoria Kavanagh who was killed in a crash on the M6.
Miss Kavanagh, a 41-year-old school nurse from Bodenham Road, Warley, had been driving on the northbound carriageway of the M6 approaching junction 10 when she slowed down and stopped behind a HGV on July 27, Black Country Coroner's Court was told.
Tragically, a second HGV hit the rear of her car which was crushed between the two lorries - Zafar Siddique, senior coroner for the Black Country, said at the inquest opener on Thursday August 13.
Miss Kavanagh died at the scene from multiple injuries - the court was told.
Mr Siddique offered his condolences to her family and adjourned the inquest until 11am on October 5 to give police time to carry out their investigation.
