A CHEMICAL spill at an Oldbury firm was dealt with by firefighters.
The incident happened at Solvay Solutions in Trinity Street at around 9pm yesterday (Friday August 28).
Fire crews from Smethwick, Oldbury, Perry Barr and West Bromwich dealt with the "small" chemical spill.
Smethwick Fire Station tweeted: "Incident in Oldbury tonight, great teamwork from all involved including @WestBromFireSta @WMFSOldbury @WMFSPerryBarr teams have worked with onsite staff to develop a plan & resolve the incident in a safe and assertive manner."
The Oldbury site manufactures a variety of phosphorus based chemicals including pharmaceuticals, paints, detergents, water treatment chemicals, agriculture and flame retardants.
The site was established in 1851 by Arthur Albright and became part of the Solvay Group in 2011.
Oldbury is the oldest Solvay site worldwide.
