A HALESOWEN man was ordered to pay a court bill of more than £800 after committing a string of thefts from a Co-Op store.

Jamie Taylor, of Islington, admitted five counts of theft at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on September 10.

These included snatching £98 worth of meat on April 3, food items to the total of £91.80 also on April 3, £239 worth of alcohol on April 4, another count of stealing alcohol worth £204.25 also on April 4 and £45 worth of Easter eggs on April 4- all from Co-Op in Halesowen.

The 33-year-old was ordered to pay compensation and a surcharge totalling £886.05 and was handed a community order with a curfew requirement for eight weeks.

Also at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court, a Dudley man was barred from getting behind the wheel for one year after drink driving in Netherton.

Cameron Falconer, of Hampton Street, admitted driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Northcott Road while over the legal alcohol limit on August 8. The 19-year-old was found to have 51 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Appearing at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on September 10, he was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 12 months and was ordered to pay a £120 fine, £32 surcharge and £135 costs.

Meanwhile, a Dudley man was hit with a court bill for disorderly behaviour.

Glen Reay, of Laurel Road, admitting committing disorderly behaviour, while drunk, on the Birmingham New Road in Dudley on April 24.

He was ordered to pay £285 in compensation and costs at Dudley Magistrates Court on September 9.

Also before magistrates last week, a Halesowen woman was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 12 months following a string of offences.

Joanne Field, of Windsor Road, pleaded guilty to driving a Mini Cooper without due care and attention in Oldbury on February 6. She also admitted wilfully obstructing a police constable; driving without a licence or insurance and fraudulently using a registration mark, all also on February 6.

The 37-year-old was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 12 months and was handed a community order with an unpaid work requirement to complete 150 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months.

She was also ordered to pay a surcharge and costs totalling £275.
