POLICE say a man in his 60s was attacked with a metal bar in Halesowen.

Officers described the incident in Malt Mill Lane as a "neighbourhood dispute" and said four other people were injured after they intervened.

The attack happened on the road near Shell Corner on Sunday September 13, at around 8pm.

The News had already reported on the incident, but police have released more information.

They said they are investigating and have appealed for witnesses to get in touch.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said the victim received hospital treatment and has since been discharged.

They said: "We are investigating reports of a disorder on Malt Mill Lane, Halesowen, shortly before 8pm on Sunday 13 September.

"It is believed a neighbourhood dispute broke out, when a man in his 60s was attacked with a metal bar.

"Four other people were also injured when they tried to intervene.

"The man received hospital treatment and has since been discharged.
