STUDENTS bid an emotional farewell to a much-loved speech and drama teacher from Kidderminster.

Students from Holy Trinity School and Sixth Form Centre formed a guard of honour for Anna Brown's funeral procession on Thursday (September 24), lining the route between the Birmingham Road school, Radford Avenue and St George's Church.

For over four decades, Anna taught countless students at the school, and years later went on to also teach some of their children and their grandchildren.

The funeral service included representatives from Holy Trinity, with the headteacher Mrs Pamela Leek-Wright providing words of reflection on Anna’s life.

Mrs Leek-Wright said: “Anyone who knew Anna would agree that she was a remarkable lady who was truly committed to her teaching and nothing brought her more joy than instilling that love and passion in others.”

Anna was known at the school for her bright eyes, infectious smile, and her dedication and endless enthusiasm and passion for her students, many of whom enjoyed theatrical and academic success thanks to her teaching.

Her ballet lessons helped many pupils progress on to the Royal School of Ballet in London.

Anna’s Cousin Sarah Peters said: “Anna brought joy and happiness to all she met and taught in her lifetime. She was an incredible lady with a phenomenal reputation and we as a family will miss her dearly.”

During the service, former Holy Trinity student and current staff member Harriett Moore sang a solo and Lorna Wilkin read a poem. Music was provided by Sally Minchin who played two violin pieces.
