I was pleased to meet local headteachers recently online to discuss the return of school children and the challenges they are facing. It was a productive meeting, with their unique insight and thoughts providing me casework to present to Ministers and officials in government.

It is right that helping pupils get back to school is a national priority, with the support of their teachers and classmates so important for their development.

I also had the opportunity to catch up with the team at the Basement Project in Bromsgrove. I am delighted that the Support Bromsgrove network – which includes so many fantastic local organisations – has received a £100,000 lottery grant. This will help support their vital work to support local vulnerable residents.

Sadly, at the time of my writing this article, families in Bromsgrove District are being asked not to visit their loved ones in care homes, due to a rise in Covid-19 cases.

Public Health Worcestershire have my support in their efforts to protect the vulnerable. I am in contact with officials, who are working hard to gather more information and establish any potential connections in confirmed cases.

As ever, if I can be any support, please do get in touch via sajid.javid.mp@parliament.uk
