THIRTEEN more people have tested positive for coronavirus in Dorset, according to the latest figures released by Public Health England.

Data on the government website shows a further seven confirmed cases in the BCP Council area in the 24-hours up to 4pm on Friday, September 25.

In total, 1,145 people have now tested positive for the virus in the local authority since the start of the pandemic giving a rate per 100,000 of the population of 289.6.

Another six cases have been reported in the Dorset Council area.

The total now stands at 757 with a rate of 200.

In the New Forest, another two cases have been confirmed with 591 positive tests overall. The rate is 328.2.

NHS England said on Friday that another 30 people who tested positive for Covid 19 had died.

None of the deaths occurred in hospitals in the south west.

The total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England is 29,838.
