A FIRE broke out at a home in Dudley - with 20 firefighters battling the blaze.

The fire at the semi-detached home in Rosemary Crescent happened at around 3pm yesterday (Friday September 25).

Four crews from West Midlands Fire Service were called to the scene.

Smoke could still be seen billowing from the roof of the home (house on right above) with fire crews using a hydraulic platform to help fight the flames.

They stopped the fire spreading to the neighbouring home.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the blaze, in the loft space.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service tweeted: “Four crews and a hydraulic platform have been in attendance at a house fire in Rosemary Crescent, Dudley.

“Good progress is being made and our crews are starting salvage operations. The cause has not been determined at this time.”

West Midlands Fire Service advises people to have working smoke alarms fitted on every level of their home.

They must be tested at least once a week.
