At your service - the places in Halesowen where you can do your bit to save the planet.
The town’s shoppers are being asked to take advantage of an expanded service that allows them to reuse and refill plastic containers rather than dumping them.
The Refill campaign says it has already saved 100 million pieces of plastic from our oceans.
Now a dedicated app helps people find locations to reuse and refill – making it easier to eat, drink and shop packaging-free.
Morrisons, LUSH, Costa and other independent stores are among some of the big name brands signed up to the campaign, run by the City to Sea charity.
It allows people to identify where they can find places to refill their water bottle, coffee cup, lunchbox, groceries and even cleaning products and toiletries– shunning single-use plastic for good
Packaging from take-away food and drinks is a leading villain in the fight against plastic pollution and items like coffee cups and take-away containers are consistently in the top 10 found on beaches around the world.
The pandemic has also seen many cafes and retailers temporarily stop the use of reusables and increase the use of single-use plastic.
