HATS off to swimmers who are helping to raise money for three Black Country charities.
The Black Country Foodbank, Dudley Carers and Acorns are the beneficiaries of money being raised by Halesowen swimmers.
They may have been out of the pool since March, but that hasn’t stopped them coming together to raise money for local charities.
The idea from junior club coach and team manager Ryan Coley and designed by committee member Jo Hill, was to create a unique swimming hat that swimmers will wear during training sessions.
The design encompasses the Halesowen colours alongside a rainbow, which has become a symbol of hope throughout lockdown.
The hats have been supplied by local supplier, Swim Hat Company.
To date the club have raised around £1,000.
Halesowen Swimming Club is a non profit organisation and is run solely by volunteers, who went above and beyond throughout lockdown, running nightly land training activities on zoom for all swimmers, as well as bingo and a weekly family quiz which was highly contested.
Halesowen Swimming Club members are now enjoying being back in the pool. Anyone wishing to join the club can contact at enquiries@halesowensc.org.uk
