USE them or lose them – that’s the warning about local pubs across Dudley borough as the industry takes a battering from Covid lockdowns.

So far pubs and small breweries across Stourbridge, Halesowen and Dudley have weathered the first lockdown storm, but local leaders of the Campaign for Real Ale are worried at the damage the new one will inflict.

One local brewer, Sadler’s of Lye, has been lost but that has been offset by the emergence of the new Printworks brewery, also in Lye.

But for the first time in nearly two decades the number of breweries in the country has fallen.

“It’s important that everyone supports our local pubs during these uncertain times – use it, or lose it!” said Steve pratt from CAMRA’s Stourbridge & Halesowen branch.

“And when thinking about getting a few beers to drink at home, try your local brewery, pub, off-licence or specialist bottle shop take-away or delivery service as a change from the national supermarkets”.

When the restrictions are lifted and we can all enjoy a pint again at the local, here is CAMRA’s list of the top pubs across the borough.
