A MAN has been arrested after a delivery driver was attacked and robbed of his car in Rowley Regis.
The delivery driver was assaulted and his car and cash were taken in the early hours of yesterday morning (Sunday November 15).
Two hours later while on patrol eagle-eyed police officers on patrol in Dudley spotted the van and followed it.
The driver tried to run off but was "detained following a brief struggle" and was arrested on suspicion or robbery, possession of drugs and driving whilst unfit through drink.
Police constable Jamie Follows, of Dudley Police said: "Officers from C unit response based at Brierley Hill police station, arrested a suspect on suspicion of robbery during the early hours of this morning.
"In Rowley Regis a delivery driver was assaulted and robbed of his vehicle and money.
"Two hours later officers on patrol in Dudley saw his vehicle being driven and followed it.
"The driver attempted to flee on foot but was detained following a brief struggle.
"He was arrested on suspicion or robbery, possession of drugs and driving whilst unfit through drink.
"The victims vehicle and money have now been recovered as the investigation continues."
