A 20-year-old has been hailed a Dudley Covid Hero for the huge amount of voluntary and charity work she has done through the pandemic.
Isobel Lines has been busy supporting initiatives in Stourbridge, Halesowen and Dudley in her capacity as the current Miss Black Country.
She was presented with a Covid Heroes 2020 Award by the Dudley Council for Voluntary Service.
Included in her community work has been:
• Launching the official Black Country Monopoly Board in aid of the Mary Stevens Hospice in Stourbridge
• Starring at the Black Country Day festival in Halesowen
• Organising donations, collections and distribution of toiletries to local Women’s Aids
• Visited local primary schools to highlight the dangers of plastic pollution
• Distributed essential PPE for local charities, including YMCA, Acorns Children’s Hospice and a Nursing Home
• Raised more than £1000 for charity
The sports science Wednesbury student, a keen equestrian, is due to compete in the Miss England Final in Birmingham next April.
