THE St Bees community is invited to give its views on the village’s conservation area.
Copeland Council’s public consultation to invite feedback on its draft appraisal document for St Bees opened on November 23. The document outlines the special interest of the conservation area, referring to its development, character and appearance. There will also be a virtual meeting on January 15 at 1pm.
The council will incorporate feedback received during the consultation - and from the virtual public meetings - into its final document that will be used to aid decision-making in the area.
Councillor Andy Pratt, portfolio holder for development management, said: “Conservation area appraisals provide the opportunity to draw attention to Copeland’s important history, articulate the conservation challenges the borough faces, and support local residents, developers and planners to make informed decisions.
“During the consultations and public meetings, we will welcome feedback from interested parties to help us make sure these documents fully reflect the wealth of local knowledge available.”
To view the draft document and complete the survey, go to: www.copeland.gov.uk/consultations. To request a hard copy of the documentation, or to register your attendance at one of the virtual meetings, email Samuel.woodford@copeland.gov.uk. The deadline for responses is December 18.
There is a virtual meeting scheduled for conservation consultation with Egremont residents on November 27 at 1pm.
