A TEAM of surveyors has started a new website which aims to identify unused parcels of land and buildings ripe for development - and has shortlisted a selection of abandoned sites in Halesowen.

New website Land Hero, which is run by Hagley based firm Land Attic, aims to identify sites with the view to then tracing the owners and kick-starting developments.

It has compiled a shortlist of sites in Halesowen and is appealing for residents to upload their suggestions.

These are listed at the end of the article and include the former Black Horse pub on Manor Way, Halesowen (pictured above) and land on Attwood Street, Halesowen (pictured at top of article)

A spokesman for Land Attic said: "Almost everyone will have noticed a closed down pub, a disused factory, or a long forgotten car park in their town, and passed it thinking, "I wish someone would do something about that!

"Land Hero’s mission is to enlist the public in pinpointing potential development sites in their neighbourhoods, and to give people the opportunity to express their views on how these sites could best be used to benefit their communities."

Halesowen News:

Land Attic, which was launched in 2018, is a match making service for landowners, agents, developers and communities to bring forward sites for housing and employment so that disused property and land can be used for development.

Land Hero said building on green belt can take a long time to obtain planning permission and develop, and is often divisive.

The team said: "There are many brownfield or derelict sites out there that could be redeveloped in a much shorter timescale, which would satisfy our immediate need for housing and employment."

The Halesowen sites identified include:

64-67 Attwood Street, Halesowen.

Land on Corner of Barrack Lane & Park Road, Halesowen. (pictured above)

Former Little Chef, Manor Way, Halesowen.

Black Horse Public House, Manor Way, Halesowen.

Derelict Shops at 126 Colley Gate, Cradley.

Former Bloomfield Works, Stourbridge Road, Halesowen.
