A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has been sentenced to 12 months detention after a Halesowen machete attack.

The teenager was charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife after shocking CCTV of the stabbing in Victoria Street, Halesowen, emerged back in June.

The incident happened on in broad daylight on Wednesday June 17 at around 3.45pm and was captured on camera.

The 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Wolverhampton Youth Court on Wednesday November 18 where he was sentenced to a 12-month detention and training order for attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of a knife and possessing cannabis.

Police said the victim suffered a small puncture wound to his thigh.
