Lye-born actor Craig Leonard and volunteers have had thousands of views on their new online production Trenchers - a WW1 soap opera raising awareness of military charities struggling through Covid.

The project, which is close to ex-serviceman Craig’s heart, is filmed on an authentic set, made by Craig, and shows an educational look at what life was like in the trenches.

Craig has been involved in running military re-enactments and shows all over the country for more than 30 years and his expertise has landed him acting roles in major films - including Atonement and Cockneys vs Zombies - and BBC dramas such as Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell.

The 49-year-old, who runs monthly Wyre Forest Auctions at Wolverley Memorial Hall and a military and vintage fair at the Gilt Edge Centre in Kidderminster, has also taken on roles assisting with set design, costume and as a military history advisor to film and TV productions.

Trenchers is inviting submissions from anyone who has WW1 kit, to do a short sketch, to film and send in the footage.

You could be part of the cast and film in your own location.
