BURGER King has announced its new Oldbury restaurant has opened today (Wednesday January 6).

The fast food giant has opened its new restaurant with a drive-thru on Oldbury Green Retail Park, close to Oldbury town centre, creating 25 new jobs.

And to celebrate it is giving away 1,000 free Whopper burgers from today till Sunday (January 10).

Site owner BlackRock UK Property Fund Ltd was granted planning permission last January to build the single-storey fast food restaurant with a drive-thru next to Homebase.

Alasdair Murdoch, CEO Burger King UK, said: “We know the people of Oldbury love the great-tasting food of Burger King, so we’ve listened to their requests and are very excited to bring all their favourites to their neighbourhood."

To claim the free burger download the Burger King app and show the voucher on the app titled ‘Oldbury only: Opening special’ for your free Whopper.

The giveaway is limited to 200 burgers a day, for the five days.

It is open for drive-thru and home delivery via Uber Eats and Just Eat due to coronavirus restrictions.

It is not open for takeaway.

Burger King said to enable restaurants to continue to open, a number of procedures have been put in place to safeguard employees and customers, following detailed operational testing.

These include additional PPE such as masks and gloves for staff, stringent cleaning measures, contactless delivery options and all Burger King staff are trained on the Government’s social distancing measures – including how to run kitchens hygienically, whilst abiding by them.
