A LOTTERY winner has missed out on a £1million jackpot as they failed to come forward in time.
The wining ticket was bought in the borough of Sandwell for the draw on July 22, 2020.
Despite numerous appeals for the winner of the fortune to come forward - no-one did - and the deadline to claim passed at midnight on Monday, January 18.
The winning ticket matched five main numbers plus the bonus ball.
The numbers were 2, 7, 11, 23, 37, 45 and bonus ball 19.
The cash, plus the interest it has earned, will now be handed over to National Lottery Good Cause projects.
Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said: “Unfortunately, I can confirm that the ticket-holder did not come forward within the deadline to claim their prize and has now sadly missed out on this substantial amount of money.
The deadline for the ticket-holder to claim their prize was at midnight on 18 January 2021.
