A NEW micro bar looks set to be coming to Blackheath.

An application to transform a former shoe shop on Halesowen Street into Cyder & Cobb micro bar has gone in to Sandwell Council.

The bar would be large enough to accommodate around 50 people.

Notes to planners state: "The premises is currently vacant, having previously been a shoe shop.

"This application is for the premises to have a change of use and become a micro bar to house approximately 40/50 patrons maximum."

They go on: "A small rear bar area would be constructed for service.

"The rear kitchen would be also become the cellar at the premises and the relevant air conditioning unit fitted to the adjacent exterior wall to provide cooling for cask and keg products."

The plan is from Mathew Smout, from Oldbury.

Notes also state that the unit was most recently used as a pop-up Christmas shop, noting that the lease is now available for the micro bar venture.

Sandwell Council planners will consider the application.
