Halesowen-based housing developer Barratt Homes has celebrated a year in which it gave £1,000 every month to charity.

As part of its Community Fund scheme launched by parent company Barratt Developments, it donated to a charity or community group in the areas in which it was building throughout the year to create ‘a positive legacy’.

The total of £12,000 was donated within the firm’s operational areas: West Midlands, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Oxfordshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, and Cheshire.

The charities that received the £1,000 donations in 2020 were Brereton Primary School, Dodford Farm, The Friendship Project, The Pathway Project, HomeStart, Banbury Young Homelessness Project, Shavington Methodist Church, Ledbury Allotment Association, STAY, Burntwood and Lichfield Autism Support Together, ARCh Oxfordshire, and Futures Unlocked.

As well as their Community Fund donations, Barratt Homes also donated £500 to Auditory Verbal in Oxfordshire, and a number of bricks and unused signs to Smethwick CAN in Birmingham.

Donations elsewhere have also been made to Bromsgrove Men in Sheds, and the Bromsgrove U9s football team, as well as to Barratt Homes West Midlands’ annual charity of choice, Midlands Air Ambulance.
