A POLICE cordon is in place in a street in Dudley after a man was attacked and rushed to hospital.
Part of Smith Street, near to Buffery Park, has been taped off by police and officers remain at the scene.
Emergency services were called shortly after 10am today (Friday, February 19) and a man has been taken to hospital to be treated for "potentially serious injuries".
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 10.35am to reports of an assault in Buffery Road, Dudley.
"We sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance critical care car to the scene.
"On arrival, crews found one patient, a man. He was treated for potentially serious injuries and was conveyed to hospital for further treatment.”
Officers at the scene say this is an ongoing incident, but declined to comment further.
Vehicles trying to access the street are being turned away by police so people are advised to avoid the area while emergency services are at the scene.
