PLANS to open a Caribbean takeaway in Oldbury have been submitted to Sandwell Council.

Fayola Gibbons has applied to open an empty unit on Hartlebury Road as a takeaway.

The application notes that the premises, which is next to Lion Farm Fish Bar, is owned by Sandwell Council and was previously operating as a Caribbean restaurant.

If given the go-ahead there will be four members of staff - a manager, one kitchen staff, a counter server and a delivery driver.

It states: "There will be no external alterations everything will be staying the same as it was previously a Caribbean restaurant.

"I just want to change it to a Caribbean takeaway.

"There is an extraction unit fitted in the kitchen which has been checked and is in a good working condition.

"There is parking for customers and staff."

Council planners will decide on the application. Miss Gibbons lives in Oldbury.

The takeaway would be open from 10am till 10pm every day.
