A DEVELOPER building homes on the former Cradley Print site in Cradley Heath has applied to make amendments to the scheme.

Fifty one homes are being built on the site of the former printworks in Chester Road.

Developer L&L Chester Road Ltd, based in Stourbridge, has been granted permission to build two apartment blocks made up of 12 one-bedroom apartments, nineteen two-bedroom homes and 20 three-bedroom houses on the two parcels of land in Chester Road.

It has applied to Sandwell Council to change the position of the access to the development, reduce the number of staircases in the apartments and slightly lift the roofline on some of the apartments.

The application notes of the change in roof height: "We believe this is a very minor adjustment and doesn't impact on the overall massing of the development."

It also wants to amend the position and types of windows on the apartment blocks (seen on plan for one of the parcels of land below).

The three storey apartment block units, which will be on the junction between Chester Road and Cradley Road, are single bedroomed apartments, each with a small office study area.

The developer said in a design and access statement that they are "ideal for single people or couples who wish to work from home.".

The houses are a mix of semi-detached and terraced homes.
