A FORMER masonic lodge in Cradley Heath looks set to be demolished after plans were submitted to Sandwell Council.

The proposal is to flatten the former Regis Masonic Hall and build an eight-bedroom detached house in its place.

It notes that the building is currently empty and that the sprawling new three-storey house would have a double garage, electric car charging station and solar roof panels.

There would be a detached outbuilding in the rear garden for storage.

On the ground floor there would be a games room, kitchen, family room, dining room and a playroom.

On the first floor there would be a gym, sauna, office, snug, utility, a lift and four bedrooms, three of which would have en-suites and walk-in wardrobes.

On the second floor plans show another four bedrooms, all with an en-suite and three with walk-in wardrobes.

The plan is from Mr Sanieey Singh Nagra, of High Haden Road, Cradley Heath.

New trees would be planted at the front and sides of the property, should the proposal get the go-ahead.

The plans note that there was "a large area of Japanese Knotweed on the north side of the garden towards the boundary line of 48,47a & 47 Beauty Bank.

"These have now been removed, by a specialist company, along with all the contaminated soil."

It goes on to say that three trees on the site are protected.
