A NEW fish and chip shop has opened in Halesowen town centre and is proving a hit with customers.

Fish & Chips Halesowen has opened up at the former Miss Fish unit on Hagley Road.

It is owned by Loukia Pantelis, whose sister used to run Miss Fish.

Loukia, a 53-year-old married mum-of-two, worked in Miss Fish from 1983-1986, so is making a return to the town!

She said: "I decided to take it over and have completely refurbished it.

"I have spent a lot of money doing it up.

"It's been going really well so far.

"We have had a really good reception."

Loukia said her husband Hermes Pantelis, who is a builder, has renovated the shop and her son-in-law electrician Ari Aristotelous, has done all the electrics.

She said the shop, which opened last Thursday (April 22) employs six part-time staff and is open from 11.45am till 9pm Monday to Saturday.

Loukia said she is planning to run a 50 per cent off promotion for two days in a few weeks' time.

The fish and chip shop has a Facebook site.

Love Local Business

Love Local Business

We are launching our Love Local Business campaign to encourage people to spend their money locally as they emerge from months of restrictions and closure.

Love Local Business follows on from the successful campaign, of the same name, which we ran in the News group last summer and over Christmas.

The aim is to promote all the fantastic traders we have in our towns and urge our readers to give them their custom at this key time as the struggle to overcome the financial implications of the pandemic.

As part of the Newsquest publishing group, the Halesowen & Dudley News reaches a huge percentage of the local population across our well-established regional brands including print publications, record online audiences and social media.

Any business which wants to be featured in the campaign call 01905 742372 or email dale.godliman@localiq.co.uk.
