FAST growing independent toy retailer Toytown is to open its largest store to date at Merry Hill.

The new store is set to open on Friday May 28 in the old WHSmith unit on the lower mall which has been vacant since the stationery retailer shut its doors in March 2020.

10 new jobs are to be created with the opening of the new outlet, which stocks a range of toys, dolls and games.

It will also include a Babyworld nursery department selling a range of baby items including car seats, nursery furniture and prams.

Toytown was founded in Belfast in 1980 and has grown to become one of the largest independent toy retailers in the UK.

A spokesman for the company said: "After the successful launch of our Worcester store in September 2020, Toytown are excited to be welcoming customers to our new store at Merry Hill this May.

"We are looking forward to working with the intu team and bringing the full comprehensive Toytown range along with the bargains that we are renowned for.

"This will be our largest store to date and will also feature our Babyworld nursery department.’

A Facebook page has been set up for the store and to celebrate the forthcoming launch at Merry Hill there's a chance to win a £50 voucher to spend in the new outlet.
