A MAN has been arrested after a pedestrian suffered serious injuries in a suspected hit-and-run in Halesowen.

The 50-year-old man was hit by a car just before 10pm yesterday (Sunday May 2) on Hagley Road near the Foxhunt Harvester.

Police arrested a 37-year-old man today (Monday May 3) on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We are investigating after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a suspected non-stop collision in Hagley Road, Halesowen, yesterday evening.

"The man in his 50s suffered leg injuries when he was struck by a car at just before 10pm.

"He was taken to hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

"A 37-year-old man was today (Monday) arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

"He remains in police custody as enquiries continue.
