A WOMAN was taken to hospital after she was knocked off her motorcycle in Colley Gate.

The crash, between a car and a motorcycle, happened on the A458 Colley Gate at its junction with Colley Lane just after 6.30pm yesterday (Tuesday May 4).

Medics and police were at the scene with the female rider treated by paramedics for her injuries.

The roads were closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "Two ambulances were sent to the scene.

"The woman who had been on the motorbike suffered nasty but non-life threatening injuries.

"After being assessed and treated at the scene, she was taken on blue lights to Russells Hall Hospital.

"There were no other patients."

People had taken to social media after the crash to warn motorists to avoid the area.

One person on the Fatherless Barn Kids, Colley Gate site said: "Please avoid road closed all 4 ways.

"Been an accident on Colley Lane/Chapel House Lane

"I hope all involved make a full recovery."
