MERRY Hill has welcomed the arrival of family-owned and egg-free bakery Cake Box to the shopping centre.

Located near Asda on the lower mall, the new cake shop serves freshly baked, handcrafted and 100 per cent egg free cakes made from quality ingredients.

Fresh cream cakes and slices, cupcakes, vegan loaves and egg free cheesecakes are all on the menu at the new bakery which also gives customers the option to add their own personalised message onto their cakes for special occasions.

It also offers a click and collect service for selected cakes, with orders ready to be picked up at the Merry Hill store within an hour.

With more than 160 stores across the UK, Cake Box was built on an ambition to reinvigorate Britain’s long-standing traditional cake bakeries.

Tejinder Singh, group operations director at the company, said: “We’re very excited to open our newest store at Merry Hill, which is the ideal destination to help us expand our presence across the West Midlands.

“We know how important it is for families and friends to celebrate special moments together and we’re proud to be able to share our customers’ most important occasions with them again.

“Our range of egg free cakes are perfect for all types of celebrations and are always a crowd-pleasing favourite that play a big part of any event.”

Duncan Burns, marketing manager at Merry Hill, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Cake Box to Merry Hill and their freshly baked and hand-crafted treats are already proving to be a big hit with our visitors.

“Over the last few weeks, we’ve opened a host of new stores at the centre and with our multi-million-pound investment transformation due to be completed later this summer, the future continues to look bright for Merry Hill."

Family-owned cup corn retailer, Yummy Cup Corn, opened at the centre in May and bubble tea specialist, Bubblycious, opened a store at the mall in April.
