BOY racers using a Halesowen dual carriageway as a race track are keeping awake elderly care home residents at night.

The town is plagued by car cruisers on the A456 Manor Way who are tearing down the road into the early hours.

The screeching of tyres is so loud it is stopping residents of nearby Lapal House Care Home sleeping.

Tony Billingham, owner of Lapal House care home, said today (Monday June 21): "It was going on again last night.

"It wakes our residents up - we can hear it very clearly.

"I'm writing a letter for James Morris MP because we are concerned about the effect it's having on our residents.

"It's keep them up until around 3am some nights.

"It's very, very loud.

"Something needs to be done."

They tweeted a picture of officers in the area last night saying: "Officers PC Tomlinson & PC Potter conducting patrols along Manor Way, as part of our continued commitment to reducing car cruising at the location."
