THE family of a man who died in a crash in Halesowen on Saturday (July 17) have paid tribute to a ‘beloved partner, father, brother, son and uncle’.

Gary Simpson, aged 38, was travelling on his motorbike on Stourbridge Road at around 3pm when he collided with a Land Rover Discovery which was turning onto Richmond Street.

Despite the best efforts of people at the scene who offered first aid before paramedics arrived, Mr Simpson was confirmed dead at the scene.

The driver of the car is assisting police with their enquires, as are a number of witnesses.

Mr Simpson's family have paid tribute through West Midlands Police's specialist family liaison officer.

PC Glyn Hanks said: “I have met the family and can see that Gary was a beloved partner, father, brother, son and uncle.

“The whole family is devastated by his sudden and unexpected loss but have asked that anyone who is able to assist our investigation to please get in touch with the team.

“In the meantime they have asked for their privacy to be respected at this very difficult time.”
