A DRIVER crashed a stolen car after being chased by police around Blackheath.
The Ford Ecosport, which was pursued by officers from Central Motorway Police Group, had been stolen earlier in a keyless theft.
The driver crashed the car and ran off through gardens yesterday (Sunday July 18), but was caught and arrested.
The unsuspecting owner didn't even realise their car had been taken before all the drama was over and they were informed by police.
West Midlands Police traffic officers posted on social media: "@CMPG pursued this Ford Ecosport around Blackheath before the driver crashed and decamped but he was caught and arrested after being chased through gardens by us.
"It turned out the car had just been stolen in a keyless theft and the owner thought it was still outside his house."
