THE Stourbridge Ramblers are inviting people to join them and enjoy the great outdoors now that lockdown restrictions have been lifted.

Following the relaxation of Covid restrictions on July 19, the Ramblers say they are working hard to make people aware of their organised walks which they say offer good exercise and a positive effect on mental health and wellbeing.

Elaine Davey, voluntary vice chairman of the Stourbridge branch of the Ramblers, said: "We would love more people to join us and would be very pleased to find new people interested in becoming volunteer walk leaders.

"We have a strong walk programme with walks taking place on Tuesdays, Sundays and most Saturdays, walk lengths are generally between five to 12 miles long.

"A social drink or maybe a meal sometimes follow after the walk.

"People are welcome to come along and give us a try."

She said three walks are free while people decide if they want to pay the £36 yearly membership fee and she added: "This equates to 69 pence per week which gives access to all Ramblers group walks and to a library of walking routes."
