PUPILS at a Halesowen school have been showing their caring side by making donations to a vital service for needy families.
Tenterfield Primary Academy students and their families dug deep to give to the Black Country Foodbank after learning of its work as part of their global and current affairs curriculum.
The move came after classmates held a live video call with Foodbank chief executive officer, Jen Coleman.
Tenterfields headteacher, Dominic Simpson, said: "I am incredibly proud of the compassion and generosity our students have demonstrated.
"These are important values at our school, and our global and current affairs curriculum covers a range of topics that help develop our students' understanding of the world and inspires them to make a real difference.
"Black Country Foodbank is a fantastic local charity that supports vulnerable individuals and families and I a m delighted our school can support their invaluable work."
Foodbank CEO, Jen Coleman, added: "We are so grateful for the donations of food and toiletries from the children, staff, parents and carers.
"Black Country Foodbank will be using all the donations received to support these families plus many more who need help over the summer."
