A WARNING has been issued about bogus workers knocking on doors in Cradley Heath and Rowley Regis.
Sandwell Council said: "We've been made aware of bogus workers knocking on doors in Cradley Heath and Rowley Regis.
"They tried to gain access to two properties saying they were gas workers - but when they were asked for ID, they left and didn't return."
The council said all of its contractors and repair staff or other genuine callers carry ID badges which they will show to prove their identity.
It said: "Don't let anyone in if you're not sure. Always check their ID."
