RESIDENTS in Dudley borough who are self-isolating may still be eligible for up to £500 if they are unable to work.

The government has extended the Test and Trace Support Payments scheme to the end of March next year.

Councillor Steve Clark, cabinet member for finance, said: “This is excellent news that the scheme is being extended and will, I am sure, be welcomed by people who are continuing to struggle financially as a result of the pandemic.

“I would urge people, if they think they are eligible, to check online and see how it all works. It could be a vital financial helping-hand when you need it most.”

To be eligible for the Test and Trace Support Payment, people must have been asked to isolate by NHS Test and Trace, be employed or self employed and unable to work from home and receive Universal Credit.
